Grand Lodge of Nebraska Annual Communication
Grand Master Joe D. McBride invites all Brethren and their ladies to attend the 158th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska. The Annual Communication will be held in Kearney, Nebraska at the Younes Conference Center.

Hotel room blocks have been reserved at the following hotels: Wingate Inn, 108 Third Avenue, 308-237-4400; Hampton Inn, 507 Talmadge Road, 308-234-3400; Holiday Inn, 110 Second Avenue, 308-237-5971; and Comfort Inn, 118 3rd Avenue, 308-236-3400. Room rates are $89.95 per night, plus tax, at all hotels. Rooms booked at Wingate, Hampton and Comfort Inns include a full breakfast. Please call these hotels directly to make your room reservations. Room blocks will be released on January 8, 2015. After that date, rates and rooms cannot be guaranteed. To ensure that you receive our group room rates, use the reference name: Masons Grand Lodge.

The Grand Lodge workshop on Friday will feature the Entered Apprentice degree being performed by Lancaster Lodge No. 54 of Lincoln, the winning lodge in this year's Ritual Contest. This year's theme for the Saturday morning Education Breakfast will be "Something New in Masonry."  A fun program for the Ladies Luncheon has been arranged by Lori McBride.

Voting on the Grand Master's Recommendation and Proposed Member Resolution will take place on Saturday, February 7, as well as the Election of the Grand Lodge Officers for 2015. Those proposed items are available for download here.

After the close of Annual Communication, join us for the Grand Lodge Luau. The luau will feature a tropical cash bar with a Hawaiian buffet. Special Masonic Hawaiian shirts with embroidered square and compass are available for purchase on your registration form. So grab your grass skirt and flip flops, order your shirt, and nimble up for the limbo, with other games and prizes throughout the evening. Proceeds of the shirts purchased for the luau will benefit the Masonic Relief Fund.

The Grand Lodge of Nebraska Annual Communication is open only to Master Masons with a current dues card and those Masons registered as a delegate from their home Lodge.

Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 stand-up comedians of all time, Sinbad tells stories, and boy does he tell stories! The actor and comedian arrived on the comedy scene with a “hit ’em in the face” style that has kept audiences laughing in the aisles for decades.

Tickets are $63, and include reception and cocktails, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Show begins at 8:00 p.m. A chartered bus will pick you up at the Scottish Rite for the 8:00 show, and drop you off again afterward. Creature Feature Live!

Join us for the 1st 2015 Creature Feature Live! fundraiser event for the Scottish Rite's RiteCareā„¢ Childhood Language Program this Friday, February 13, from 8 pm - 11pm!

We are screening Halloween 5 (1989) with special live guest Tamara Glynn (Samantha Thomas in the film). Tamara will be signing photos at the show with a Q&A session after the movie! The usual live on-stage tomfoolery with Doc San Guinary and the gang, and refreshments available in the lobby.

 After a short business meeting, the River City Theater Organ Society will present the Omaha Scottish Rite Masonic Center's recently restored 1926 Kilgen and Sons Pipe Organ by the Bedient Pipe Organ Company with talented organist and RCTOS member Brent Shaw. Brent is resident organist at the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln, NE  and concertizes throughout the United States. Brent is also an accomplished carillonist at First Plymouth in Lincoln. Brent's program will include Saxophonist Nick May and Vocalist Nathaniel Sullivan. After Brent's program, RCTOS members will continue the afternoon's program. Open console will follow the formal program.

 Dinner Buffet Available After Organ Program - open to members and guests ($15/person)

The buffet will consist of Garden Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccini Alfredo with herb garlic sauce, signature breaded eggplant, garlic breadsticks, and coffee/tea/water.

Nebraska Grand Lodge Installation

Join M.W. John T. Maxell, Grand Master of Masons in Nebraska, and the officers of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska for the installation of 2015 officers. Celtic Thunder

“The Very Best of Celtic Thunder Tour” kicks off in Florida in February 2015 and features an eclectic collection of the group’s best-loved and most popular songs from the past seven years. Drawing material from Celtic Thunder’s nine Public Television Specials, eleven CDs and DVDs and eight US tours to date, “The Very Best Of Celtic Thunder” tour aims to combine all Celtic Thunder classics, fan favorites and hit songs into a formidable stage show, married with that huge Celtic Thunder signature sound, dramatic lighting and imposing set that audiences and fans everywhere have come to expect from a Celtic Thunder show.

 

This show is on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Orpheum Theater - Slosburg Hall at 8:00 p.m.. Please note: this is not part of the Scottish Rite Broadway Series. You must call the Orpheum Theater ticket office for tickets and reservations.
