13th Annual WalkRite for RiteCare a Great Success for Omaha

The annual WalkRite for RiteCare was a wonderful success this past June 19th at Chalco Hills Recreation Area. The weather was a breezy 82° as we welcomed 100 RiteCare families, the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute Clinicians, and Scottish Rite Masons.

Chalco Hills was the perfect location for the Walk with a cool visitor’s center for registration and families gathering out back. Members of the UNO Nebraska Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA) hosted activities for the kids, and the Culinary Masters grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with desserts provided by the Clinicians. Walkers went around a short kid-friendly trail near the visitor’s center at Chalco Hills before lunch.

RiteCare families donated several beautiful raffle baskets, which raised an additional $150, and many families made generous donations throughout the day. The Walk raised $5,500 all of which will support the RiteCare Speech and Language Clinic.
