Jim is also a Line Officer in the York Rite Florence Chapter No.61, Royal Arch; Omaha Council No.1, Royal & Select Masons; and Mt. Calvary Commandery, No.1,  Knights Templar.

Jim grew up in a military family and lived in numerous US and overseas locations until finally settling down in
Memphis TN where he completed High School and an undergraduate college degree.
After college, Jim served in the USAF for 25 years as a B-52 navigator/bombardier and various staff officer positions until retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement, he worked for a local defense contractor
as a software systems tester and financial analysis for 17 years.

Jim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Memphis, an MS degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, and an MS degree in Operations Research from the Airforce Institute of Technology.

Jim and his wife, Joan, reside in Omaha. Their three children are all married with their families residing in
Portland OR, Omaha, and Bellevue.

Jim was raised as a Master Mason in Bellevue Lodge #39 in 1985 and joined the Scottish Rite and Tangier Shrine the same year. He is a Past Master of Bellevue Lodge and a Past Commander of the Tangier Shrine Bowl Unit.

Jim is an active member in both the 18th and 25th Scottish Rite degree teams and
a member of the Omaha Valley Knights of St Andrew.
