T. J. Brumfield III was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and traveled frequently as a child, living on both coasts. However, he moved back to Nebraska in 2001 and considers this his home. He graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1996 before entering the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He has been working at PayPal since 2008.

He was raised as Master Mason in the same year at Nebraska #1 Lodge. In addition to serving as Venerable Master of the Knights of Saint Andrew, he served as Master of Mizpah Lodge #302 in 2023 and is currently Senior Warden for Nebraska Lodge #1 in 2024. T.J. is Secretary of Omaha Chapter #1 Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Omaha Council #1 Cryptic Masons, Past Captain General of Mt. Calvary #1, and, Secretary of the Nebraska College of the SRICF, Grand Sentinel of the Grand Commandery, and Secretary for a non-Masonic body as well.

He is married to his wife Sarah for 17 years and has two lovely daughters, Zoe and Eva. Eva had apraxia of speech and was a RiteCare patient, so supporting the Scottish Rite and RiteCare of Nebraska is especially meaningful for T. J. He enjoys watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Boston Red Sox when he can find the time.
